Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has any information or made any assessment regarding the State which is encouraging/ leading in treatment/medication through AYUSH systems of medicine;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the details of work carried out by the leading State;

(c) whether the Government has advised to other States work for the promotion of AYUSH systems of medicine in the same way; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

STARRED QUESTION NO. 376* FOR 11TH AUGUST, 2017

(a) to (d) No, however, the States/UTs are encouraging the treatment of AYUSH systems of medicine through the existing AYUSH hospitals/dispensaries in the States/UTs. The States/UTs wise number of AYUSH hospitals/dispensaries is furnished at Annexure.
Further, Central Government under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) is supporting the States/UTs for promotion of AYUSH systems of medicine in the country. The Mission envisages better access to AYUSH services, strengthening of AYUSH educational institutions, enforcement of quality control of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani & Homoeopathy (ASU &H) drugs and promotion of medicinal plants for sustainable availability of raw-materials for ASU & H drugs in the States/UTs.
