Will the Minister of



HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:-




(a) whether the students belonging to Scheduled Castes get only two attempts for appearing in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for engineering;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Government proposes to increase the attempts for appearing in JEE for SC candidates; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d): No, Madam. The numbers of attempts which a candidate, irrespective of his / her category, can avail in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) are limited to three. At present, there is no such proposal to increase the attempts for appearing in Joint Entrance Examination for SC candidates.
