Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether some international organizations are co-operating to eliminate Tuberculosis (TB) in the country and if so, the details thereof indicating the names of such organizations;

(b) the number of TB cases reported in the country during the current year;

(c) whether any target has been set for complete eradication of TB in the country; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO LOK SABHA
STARRED QUESTION NO. 293* FOR 12TH JULY, 2019

(a) Yes. Several International Organizations are collaborating with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to eliminate Tuberculosis (TB) in the country. The details of such organizations is Annexed.
(b) 11,84,778 TB cases have been reported in the country during the current year from 01.01.2019 to 07.07.2019

(c)&(d) Government of India has set the target for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to TB by 2025 as against the global target of 2030.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has prepared the National Strategic Plan to achieve the SDG target of reduction in mortality due to TB by 90%; and reduction in incidence of TB by 80%; by 2025, as compared to 2015 baseline.
