Survey on SC Entrepreneurs

SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:-


(a) whether the Government has conducted any study/survey to ascertain the number of SC entrepreneurs in the country;

(b) if so, the details and the outcome thereof, State-wise; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor and the time by which such study/survey is likely to be conducted?

(a) to (c) National Sample Survey Organisation, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation in its 67th Round had conducted a large scale sample survey during July, 2010 to 2011 in the country pertaining to non-agricultural enterprises belonging to Manufacturing, trade and other services run by proprietor and partners, excluding manufacturing enterprises registered under Section 2m(i) and 2m(ii) of Factories Act, 1948, enterprises registered under Companies Act, 1956, Government and Public Sector Enterprises, Cooperatives and Service Sector enterprises engaged in construction.

As per the outcome of the survey 13.4% enterprises belonged to SC category. As regards to manufacturing and trading 13.5% and 11.8% enterprises belonged to SC category respectively.
