ANSWER
Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION
(Dr Mahesh Sharma)

(a) & (b) : No, Madam. The recruitment exercise for the post of Sr. Trainee Pilot was carried out in accordance with the Govt. guidelines on reservation for candidates belonging to SC/ST & OBC categories

(c) & (d) : No separate psychometric test was done in the aforesaid recruitment exercise for Sr. Trainee Pilot. However, with the changing scenario of global aviation and recent tragedies like disappearance of Malaysian Plane and intentional crash of German Plane, every Airline is
insisting on checking up the Psychological/ behavioral aspect of not only the newly recruited incumbents but also for the existing Pilots.

Accordingly, a Psychologist from Indian Air Force, who is an expert in the filed of psychological / behavioral aspects, was associated with the Selection Board to adjudge the suitability of the candidates for the post with regard to their Psychological / behavioral aspects, etc.
