Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether the process of selection of agency for construction of a medical colleges approved under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme in Nagaur district of Rajasthan is under consideration with the Government;
(b) if so, the time by which the action is likely to be taken in this regard;
(c) whether the Government proposes to issue any guidelines for early operationalisation of the said medical college; and
(d) if so, the time by which it is likely to be completed?

(a) to (d) The Ministry has sanctioned opening of a new Government medical college at Nagaur in Rajasthan by upgrading the district hospital. The college has been approved in September, 2010 under Phase III of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for “Establishment of new medical colleges attached with existing district/referral hospitals” at an approved cost of Rs. 325 crore, to be shared between the Centre and State Government in the ratio of 60:40 with allocation of Central Share of Rs.195 crores. Out of which Rs. 50 crore has been released to the State Government till date.
The State Government of Rajasthan is the implementing agency for the project. As per information provided by the State Government of Rajasthan, the executive agency for construction of new medical college at Nagaur has been finalised.
