Collaboration with other Countries in Make in India Initiative

COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY be pleased to state:-


(a) the details of collaboration with other countries in various sectors under the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative from 2014 till date;

(b) whether foreign companies are providing assistance in production/technological know-how/raw materials/strategy under the ‘Make in India‘ program;

(c) if so, the details regarding the various services provided by these foreign companies;

(d) whether the Government has estimated the total investments under the Make in India during the five years from 2014 to 2020 and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(e) the media-wise details of the expenditure related to advertising since the start of ‘Make in India’ initiative till date?

(a) to (c): Activities under Make in India initiative are being undertaken by several Central and State Government departments from time to time. Programme specific data of such activities and details of foreign companies are not centrally maintained.

(d): India has registered its highest ever annual FDI Inflow of US $74.39 billion (provisional figure) during the last financial year 2019-20 as compared to US $ 45.15 billion in 2014-2015. In the last six financial years (2014-20), India has received FDI inflow worth US$ 358.30 billion which is 53 percent of the FDI reported in the last 20 years (US$ 681.87 billion). Year-wise FDI inflow in the country since 2014-15 is given in below table:

However, no data regarding total investment under Make in India is maintained centrally.
