RECRUITMENT OF SC/ ST PILOTS IN AAI

Will the Minister of



CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:-




(a) whether there has been any appointment of pilots belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) in the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in the last fifteen years;

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether pilots belonging to other categories have been recruited and they have been imparted training which is available for SC/ST candidates only;

(d) if so, the details thereof and the number of pilots appointed from General Category in the last fifteen years; and

(e) whether any request has been received for the post of co-pilot for one pending vacancy which belongs to SC category and if so, the details thereof along with the action taken thereon?


ANSWER

Minister of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati)

(a) & (b) : No, Madam. One SC post of pilot was advertised in the year 2006, however no candidate meeting the eligibility criteria had applied for the post.

(c) & (d) : Six pilots and three co-pilots belong to general category were recruited in the last fifteen years but no pre-induction training had been imparted to them.

(e) : No, Madam. The post has not been advertised recently.
