Tourism Projects

Will the Minister of TOURISM be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the Government has received any proposals from various State Governments for tourism projects during the last three years and the current year; <br/>(b) if so, the details thereof and the action taken thereon, project-wise, State/UT-wise including Kerala; <br/>(c) whether the Government proposes to allocate additional funds to the State Governments for various tourism projects for the developments of tourism and if so, the project-wise details thereof along with the status of their Detailed Project Reports, State/UT-wise; <br/>(d) whether the Government has sanctioned certain sanctioned projects/being considered for cancellation; and <br/>(e) if so, the details thereof along with the reasons therefor?<br/><br/>
ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE FOR TOURISM (INDEPENDENT CHARGE)<br/>(DR. MAHESH SHARMA)<br/><br/>(a) to (c): Project proposals are received from State Governments/UT Administrations from time to time for seeking Central Financial Assistance under various operative infrastructure development schemes in tourism sector.<br/><br/>The proposals received are examined with reference to the prescribed guidelines and financial assistance is extended for such projects subject to fulfilment of the stipulated conditions, operational viability and availability of funds.<br/><br/>Details of projects sanctioned State/UT-wise, including for the State of Kerala under various operative schemes is given at Annexure.<br/><br/>(d) and (e): The Ministry of Tourism has not received any such proposal from State Governments/UT Administrations.<br/>*******<br/>
